Alloy/Lathe Technician – Slough

Salary OTE: Circa £40,000

Shift Pattern: 3 Days per week, 12.5 hours (days only).

Role overview 

We are looking for a passionate Alloy/Lathe Technician to accurately undertake the preparation and repainting of standard Alloy & Diamond Cut Wheels

Key responsibilities 

Your key responsibilities as an Alloy/Lathe Technician will be:

  • To accurately undertake the preparation and repainting of standard Alloy & Diamond Cut Wheels.
  • Using & Maintaining our Vixen Lathe machinery in line with manufactures guidelines
  • Fulfil all tasks to the customer’s complete satisfaction
  • Detect and diagnose any additional faults for further repair i.e.. Distorted wheels not fit for repair
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and complies with the retailer, manufacturer, and industry guidelines
  • Carry out all repairs according to best practice procedures
  • Use all paint mixing schemes and drying areas/equipment accurately for all paint repairs
  • Coach and support apprentice technicians
  • Attend specialised training as required
  • To perform other duties in support of other team members as required
  • To maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment
  • To receive work from the workshop controller and carry out related checks, administration and protection routines

What we’re looking for

About You 

As an Alloy/Lathe Technician, you will ideally have the following skills and attributes:

  • Good attention to Detail
  • Strong experience in Wheel preparation and painting
  • Experience within the accident repair and Bodyshop industry.
  • Lathe operating experience or equivalent is an advantage but not essential
  • Outstanding organisation and time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines
